Judging is over and tension is mounting as we are just a few days away from finding out who the winners and runners up of the 16 business award categories and the overall 2017 Wexford Business of The Year Award will be.

Sponsored by Wexford County Council and the EPA, and supported by Wexford People and South East Radio, Wexford Chamber is proud and honoured to present the 9th Wexford Business Awards.  The Wexford Business Awards were created in 2009 in order to recognise the achievements of local businesses and reward them for their commitment to excellence and customer service.   16 categories, 186 applications, 500 + attending the Gala Ceremony on Friday 26th May in Clayton Whites Hotel – 9 years later the 2017 Wexford Business Awards has grown exponentially year on year into what is now one of the most prestigious business events in the country.

Well known TV and radio personality Hector Ó hEochagáin will host this years awards ceremony. Speaking about his involvement on the night, Mr. Ó hEochagáin said “With the economic recovery now in flow, I am delighted to be a part of this high profile and hugely successful event.  In addition to discovering which businesses will claim the coveted awards, I am looking forward to an entertaining evening with the Wexford businesses that have kept ‘her lit’ in recent years’.

The event raises the whole profile of County Wexford and injects pride and confidence amongst employees and businesses, including the start-up industry.   The awards demonstrate Wexford Chamber’s determination to promote the strength and viability of Wexford in terms of its innovation and genuine desire to achieve progress on a national and international scale.  Wexford is leading the way.

Madeleine Quirke, CEO Wexford Chamber, said “Wexford is indeed the place to achieve and enjoy a healthy and positive lifestyle.  The IDA promotes Ireland as a home where people and companies get together.  Wexford is indeed that, showcasing a location by the sea, mountains on our doorstep and a centre of culture and entertainment.  Health, social and educational facilities are all of the highest quality and family life is cherished and supported.”

“Karl Fitzpatrick, President Wexford Chamber, said “A great night of celebration is ahead of us next Friday evening as we award some of the best businesses in the South East.  Wexford is thriving and, no matter what challenges lie ahead, I am confident that all of the many advantages Wexford has to offer will continue to attract new and innovative investors to our town”.

The evening will include music by Wexford’s very own Corner Boy and a prize draw with all proceeds going to Family Life Services, who have been providing counselling support services within County Wexford for over 25 years to those members of the community who, in particular, are experiencing marginalization.
